Day 1

  • Hike from Takijiri to Chikatsuyu, following one of the most historic sections of the Kumano Kodo through deep forests, mountain paths, and peaceful rural villages. Experience the timeless atmosphere of this ancient pilgrimage route away from the crowds.

Day 2

  • Continue from Chikatsuyu toward Kumano Hongu Taisha, passing through forested mountains, historic pilgrimage sites, and the sacred heartland of the Kumano Kodo. End the day with a relaxing stay at Yunomine Onsen, one of Japan’s oldest hot spring villages.

Day 3

  • Travel by private car from Yunomine Onsen to Kumano Hayatama Taisha and Kumano Nachi Taisha, two of the three grand shrines of Kumano. Discover sacred forests, ancient shrines, and the iconic Nachi Falls before returning by private car to Osaka or Kyoto.
